PROBLEM

ANZCO Foods, NZ’s 3rd largest meat producer, identified energy consumption as a significant cost to their business and asked DETA Consulting and EECA for help to reduce it.

SOLUTION

DETA Consulting worked with ANZCO Foods through a two-year energy management programme to identify, deliver and monitor key technical projects to reduce energy consumption across their sites. A formalised management structure was paramount to success with buy-in from senior management down to operator levels.

OUTCOME

25GWh/annum saved. Equivalent to $2.7M/yr, 10.7% of their energy consumption, (or the entire energy consumption of Alexandra) at a payback of 14 months. ANZCO Foods are continuing with the programme, now with a focus on staff engagement and driving behavioural change.
